Parking spaces are regarded as the spaces which belong to the housing society. This space is allotted usually on the basis of ‘First Come, First Serve’. Parking space in most of the residential buildings can be of various types; so when it comes to choosing the parking space along with the flat, you will need to keep some vital points in mind:
- In case the builder asks you to choose between open and covered parking space; then it is always better to go for a covered space. You may need to pay a bit extra to buy the flat with a covered parking space but once you start living in the apartment; you will realize the benefits of opting for a covered parking space.
- Make sure that the developer allows you the car parking space when you book the flat. Keep in mind that the builder is supposed to allot the car parking space on ‘first come and first serve’ basis. Also ask the builder to mention the total area of car parking space on the blueprint.
- When looking for a space for parking near apartment, you should ideally choose a space that is located closest to your block; it could be in the basement or even on the ground floor.
- Many times it has been observed that after the construction of the project is finished and the residents have moved into the flat, they find it difficult to park their car in the small parking space. In order to be on the safer side, as a buyer you must insist that the developer mentions the area of the parking space in the sale agreement too, so you can rest assured that you have been given the space as was agreed upon.
Keep in mind that choosing the right car parking space will not only benefit you but will also have an impact on the resale value of your property.
